Application Whitelisting

Application whitelisting is the practice of specifying an index of approved software applications that are permitted to be present on devices on the network. The goal of application whitelisting is to protect devices and networks from potentially harmful applications, Application whitelisting only allows approved/trusted applications to run and prevents the execution of unapproved/malicious programs.

The Application Whitelisting application allows the administrator to create a fingerprint-based whitelist (created by applications on the network). Once the baseline is set, Crystal Eye blocks unknown applications (communicating and running on the network). Thus, the app can protect against unknown Zero Day Attacks .

The Application Whitelisting application is not available by default. It can be installed from Marketplace in the left-hand navigation panel.
